Which fashion show is the most energetic, cheerful and heart touching of the season? I nominate Chromat without hesitation. The New York based swimwear label marked its 10th year in the industry on Saturday night and it turned the runway show into a celebration party.
The spring/summer 2020 season incorporates signature elements from the past years such as structural cages from AW13 Superstructures, Electroluminescent wires from AW16 Lumina, and inflatables from AW17 Buoyancy. Inspired by NASA and its astronauts in underwater training facilities, many designs also feature silver safety belt buckles and fluorescent colors adding to the futuristic looks.

It was a party filled with fun hip-hop music, neon lights, cheering audience, passionate models and as usual, true diversity and inclusion. There were models in different sizes and shapes, skin color, age, stage (i.e. a pregnant mother) and even different mood. Chromat and its models successfully showed us it is perfectly fine to be different and be yourself at any stage. Fashion is not universal sample sizes of US 0-4, but to make you look confident in what you are wearing and love yourself even more.

On the audience seats, even the coldest face chief editors and indoor sunglasses wearing celebrities were generously showing their Duchenne smile. In the end, the female rapper Rico Nasty performed along side the dancing models and the talented designer, closing this inspiring, empowering and heartwarming night.
