With tunes from the Beatles’ “Abbey Road” album, Badgley Mischka’s Fall 2020 collection was presented at New York Fashion Week. Inspired by the costumes and settings of the british TV – “Downton Abbey”, the collection substantially employs laces, satin, velvet and brocades, from embroidered lace gowns to matching skirt suits, recreating that 60s wealthy socialite glamour for confident ladies today.

The evening gowns are designed in simple silhouettes, while each has intricate details such as metallic fabrics with plunging neckline embroideries, oversize velvet bell sleeves and boat neckline, adding sophistication to the timeless elegance.
More modern looks such as the grey sparkling bell sleeve, belted skirt suit and the plaid gold brocade, black and white cape style jacket with matching skirt are presented for your wardrobe as options for a boss lady outfit for corporate cocktail events.

High-neck ruffled collars and strong shoulders echo well with the post-Edwardian era theme, giving the powerful looks another boost. The designers also created more relaxed styles such as the floral basil green bell sleeve dress, and the mixture with leopard print and fringed camel color jacket poncho, delivering bright, chic and fun day looks.

The designers, Mark Badgley and James Mischka, mentioned during a backstage interview that for this collection they wanted to create clothes for women to feel “empowered and beautiful and safe” during this election year which may be a “very fraught time in this country.”
