Is orange the new black? Sally LaPointe answers yes for her Spring 2020 collection.  The New York based designer brightened up the runway at New York Fashion Week this morning, using orange carpeting and orange tone garments. To Sally, orange is powerful and represents “determination, success, freedom”.

Known for creating luxurious, modern, yet comfortable styles, the designer continued matching monochromatic separates in different fabrics to create effortless and timeless looks. Silk cashmere cape cardigans and featherweight mohair capes were used in many of the outfits worn over ivory cinched waist viscose blazers and track pants, or Khaki boxy sweater and belted pants, creating elegant flowing lines and powerful yet feminine vibes.  Mesh drape top and flare leg pants in orange or green bring a light and airy feel to the styles and a touch of luxurious sexiness.

Leather-on-leather is trending this fall, and we see it in Sally’s spring collection as well: a cognac lightweight leather belted blouse on a light weight skirt. Although my favorite look would probably be the cognac lightweight leather blazer dress. The cut out design on the shoulders softens the outfit, balanced out by the mesh flare leg pants for a confident, strong, but not too aggressive look.

Sally LaPointe’s label was founded in 2010, and has dressed A-list celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rita Ora, Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Stewart, to name a few.
